Title: Vice President, Cash Management/Commercial Lending Officer
Company: Commonwealth National Bank
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Lunenburg
Career highlights:
I am the cash management officer and a commercial loan officer for Commonwealth National Bank. I manage the sales, delivery and servicing of cash management products and services to the bank’s corporate clients. On the lending side, I work with businesses by providing commercial loans and general banking services, as needed.
I have been in commercial lending since 1992 with a five-year hiatus working at a software company. I joined CNB in May 2005 as a commercial lender and recently assumed the responsibilities for cash management.
Community involvement:
It has always been modeled in my family to give back to the community. My husband and I consider it important that this value be instilled in our children. Having three sisters and being a working mother of two daughters, I volunteer to support the missions of Abby’s House (which serves women and children) and the Edward Street Child Care Facilities Committee (which serves children and families).
I also cantor at my parish, Our Lady of the Lake, Leominster. Cantoring allows me to volunteer while doing an activity that I love — singing.
Biggest success:
One quality that I respect in a good leader is the ability to mentor and guide employees. When I worked for the software company, I was a manager of a team of business analysts. I consider my biggest professional success as having a number of my team members advance to positions of leadership within the company while under my tutelage.
Dream job:
My ultimate dream job is to perform as the lead in Broadway musicals.
Businessperson she most admires and why:
The businessperson I most admire is Tess Sneesby, the executive director of Abby’s House. Under her quiet leadership for the past 16 years, the organization has expanded from its roots as an emergency shelter to add 78 units of long-term affordable housing and has more than quadrupled its budget. Tess and her staff are an inspiration — they operate a solid non-profit corporation that continues to grow.
