Universal Window and Door, a Marlborough window manufacturer, has grown its manufacturing workforce by 30 percent since 2015, capitalizing on a growing trend of preserving historic mills and other buildings.
The company said Tuesday it’s seen unprecedented growth in the past two years, working on historical preservation projects including the Canal Lofts and University Park apartment buildings in Worcester, and on mills in Lawrence, Lowell and Pawtucket, R.I.
Universal Window and Door says it has provided historically accurate windows for more than 80 buildings that are listed on the National Historic Register.
The company did not provide a total workforce number, but said it has recently hired in manufacturing, sales and customer service.
