Marlborough-based window manufacturer Universal Window and Door has named a new president and CEO, the company announced Monday.
Tony Muraco, who served as CEO for a similar company in New York for five years, has taken the reins at the firm immediately, according to a statement from Universal’s owner, Charlotte Broussard.
He was most recently chief operating officer for Duro Dyne Corp. of Bay Shore, N.Y., which focused on products and accessories for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. From 2006 to 2011, he was CEO at Champion Window and Door of Syosset, N.Y.
Universal, which has 88 employees, said Muraco successfully transformed Duro Dyne into a more profitable enterprise by streamlining the purchasing process, introducing “lean” principles, and negotiating a manufacturing licensing agreement with an associate in the Middle Eastern emirate of Dubai.
