ECI, a Marlborough-based life science consulting firm, has appointed company co-founder Brijesh Patel as its next CEO.
Patel, who is replacing fellow co-founder Hoyt Randall Smith in the CEO position as he heads to retirement, has 25 years of life science industry experience, according to a press release issued by ECI on Thursday.
“Brijesh Patel’s appointment as CEO marks an exciting new chapter for ECI,” Smith said in the press release, “His profound understanding of regulatory compliance and ability to provide strategic leadership will be invaluable as we expand our services and reach new heights in the industry.”
Prior to co-founding ECI, Patel held leadership roles at multiple life science firms, including stints at Cambridge-based Teva Pharmaceuticals and Illinois-headquartered Abbott Laboratories.
Founded in 2012, the company has offices in Marlborough and the Coyol Free Zone, a trade zone and business park in Costa Rica where ECI is assisting a client with the construction of a new packaging test laboratory.
