Marlborough IT Firm Announces Patent
Technology hardware maker ioBridge of Marlborough said it has been awarded a patent for technology that will make it easy to enable devices and services for the Internet.
The patent addresses obstacles that will allow hardware devices connected to the Internet behind firewalls to be monitored and controlled securely over the web by using a web-based interface, such as a mobile app or an application programming interface (API).
"Our focus is to make it simple for manufacturers to add cloud-based functionality to their products and services," said Robert Mawrey, the company’s CEO. "Our technology makes it easy for consumers to set up and start using connected devices."
