Marlborough human services nonprofit expanding to Worcester office

Thrive Support & Advocacy, a human services nonprofit in Marlborough, will expand into a new Worcester office to serve more families in and around the city.

Thrive is expanding its family support services under a new contract with the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services to serve more than 600 families, it announced Wednesday. Its 3,300-square-foot Worcester office will open in January in the Northworks mill building at 100 Grove St., with plans to eventually include 25 full- and part-time workers.

The new location will allow for easy access for families traveling by car or public transit, because it’s served by two bus lines. The office is expected to serve families from Auburn, Boylston, Holden, Leicester, Paxton, Shrewsbury, West Boylston and Worcester.

Thrive, whose president and CEO is Worcester city councilor Sean Rose, serves youth and adults with developmental disabilities including autism.
