UMass Memorial Health – Marlborough Hospital has been awarded a grant from the Cummings Foundation of $300,000 over 10 years.

“We plan to use these funds to provide resource connections and culturally sensitive educational programs for at-risk individuals and families living in the community,” Steve Roach, president of UMass Memorial Health – Marlborough Hospital, said in a release.

Marlborough Hospital’s Community Health Outreach Program will help connect area residents with hospital staff as well as community agencies and services. It will also provide referrals and connect people to resources to overcome social problems and barriers and deliver basic health education to community residents in their primary languages in collaboration with other organizations, according to the release.

The hospital is one of 140 local nonprofits to receive grants of $100,000 to $500,000 each through the Woburn-based Cummings Foundation’s $25 Million Grant Program. The complete list of 140 grant winners, plus more than 800 previous recipients, is available online.
