Marlborough Drug Firm Names Advisors

Acton Pharmaceuticals Inc. said it has formed a scientific advisory board to help advance the company's research and development programs and corporate strategy.

The chairman of the advisory board is Kenneth Newman, the Marlborough company's chief medical advisor.

Members include William Berger of the University of California, Irvine; Thomas Casale of Creighton University in Nebraska; Gene Colice of George Washington University; Jonathan Corren of UCLA; Harrold Nelson of National Jewish Health; John Oppenheimer of Plumonary and Allergy Associates and Nancy Sander, the founder of an asthma and allergy outreach organization.

All of the board members except for Sander are medical doctors.

Acton is developing drugs for the treatment of asthma and other respiratory conditions.
