The Marlbrough Economic Development Corp. has received an award from an industry group for a promotional video it made to draw people and companies to the city.
The video, "Live, Work, Play in Marlborough," won a bronze award in the video/multimedia promotion category from the International Economic Development Council at its annual conference this week in Atlanta, the MEDC said.
The roughly three-minute video has been seen on Facebook and YouTube more than 155,000 times, the agency said. The clip highlights Marlborough's restaurants, quality of life and other features, with interviews with residents, business owners and officials, and aerial and streetscape photos of the city. Major employers, including Hologic, TJX Cos. and GE Healthcare LifeSciences, are also featured.
An updated version of the video is underway and expected to be released later this month.
“We are extremely proud to be recognized by IEDC for this project, which showcases Marlborough’s abundance of amenities and offerings, alongside the voices of leaders and innovators who contribute so much to our community,” MEDC Executive Director Meredith Harris said in a statement announcing the award. “This award creates an opportunity for people across the country and beyond to see our video and literally visualize what Marlborough has to offer to businesses, visitors and future residents. I hope it will also create momentum for our new video when it comes out later this month.”
