A business consultant with experience in both the public and private sectors has been named the next president and CEO of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Michelle Mercier, a business growth consultant who has been self-employed since 2016, has been appointed to the role, according to a press release issued by the chamber on Thursday.
“Michelle offers a unique talent for leadership that will enhance the organization beyond measure,” Tye Jordan, chair of the chamber’s board of directors and regional director of Worcester-based Cinch I.T, said in the press release. “I am excited to see her succeed and grow the Marlborough Regional Chamber.”
With Mercier in these leadership positions, the chamber is looking to continue to empower local businesses and advance the city’s economy. She was chosen due to her passion for community development and her strategic vision for the organization.
“I am committed to working collaboratively with our members, stakeholders, and the broader community to drive innovation, promote business growth, and create opportunities for all,” Mercier said in the release.
Mercier replaces Steve Messineo, who had served in both the CEO and president roles since April 2023. Messineo is now employed as the director of operations at Physical Therapy Innovations in Marlborough.
Founded in 1924, the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce counts more than 350 businesses in the Marlborough area as members, according to its website.
