A Marlborough manufacturer of body sculpting products has sued to prevent Irish and German companies from importing products it says infringe on its patents.
The company, BTL Industries, announced the actions on Thursday, which include a lawsuit in U.S. Federal District Court in Delaware and a complaint with the federal International Trade Commission.
The complaints target Zimmer MedizinSysteme of Germany and an Irish subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company Allergan called Zeltiq Aesthetics. BTL said Zimmer’s CoolTone and Zeltiq’s CoolSculpting products infringe on its body-contouring and body-shaping products.
BTL Group, which was founded in 1993, says it has more than 2,000 employees in more than 50 countries.
