ReWalk, a robotics company headquartered in Marlborough specializing in medical devices that enable mobility for individuals with neurological conditions, is expanding direct sales of its exoskeleton devices into Canada.

The move is a result of integration between ReWalk and the former commercial team of AlterG, according to a press release issued by the company on Friday. Rewalk acquired the California-based company in August for $19 million, with the intent of leveraging the companies’ combined market presence and similar focus.

“With the formation of our larger, newly combined commercial team, we have expanded three sales territories to include the major population centers in Canada,” ReWalk CEO Larry Jasinski said in the release. “The Canadian market for anti-gravity systems has been underserved in the past, and we anticipate that our expanded direct sales presence will allow the company to penetrate these markets more effectively.”

AlterG products, which include a line of anti-gravity treadmills to assist with pain-free rehab and training, were already being distributed in Canada, according to AlterG’s website.

ReWalk’s products include the ReStore Soft Exo-Suit, used in stroke rehabilitation, and the ReWalk Personal 6.0 Exoskeleton, which is utilized by people with spinal cord injuries. The ReWalk Personal 6.0 Exoskeleton system received approval to be included in 2024 Medicare coverage in November.
