Marlborough businesses added 750 jobs in 2019, bringing the city's unemployment rate to 2.0%, a 19-year low, according to the Marlborough Economic Development Corp.

The city's economic growth last year included 20 companies moving to or expanding in Marlborough, the development agency said Wednesday at its annual board of directors meeting.

New companies include Candela, which moved its headquarters from Maynard to occupy 50,000 square feet at 251 Locke Drive; Doble Engineering, which moved from Watertown into 79,000 square feet at 123 Felton St.; Nasuni, a Boston cloud computing company with 16,000 square feet at 313 Boston Post Road West; and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, which brought 200 jobs from Boston.

Those 20 companies moving or expanding into Marlborough added more than 225,000 square feet of space, the development corporation said.

Marlborough's office vacancy rate fell a full percentage point over the year to 13%, while the commercial vacancy rate was flat at 9%.
