A self-storage facility has opened at 215 Simarano Drive in Marlborough on a wooded site next to headquarters for Hologic and the Marlborough Technology Center.
The five-story facility, 10X Self Storage, includes 520 units. It is operated by O'Brien Commercial Properties LLC, a real estate management firm affiliated with O'Brien Commercial Properties of Concord. O'Brien announced the opening Monday.
A 10X Self Storage facility is located in Acton, and another is due to open in the spring at 40 Pullman St. in Worcester. O'Brien bought the site through a limited liability corporation in August for more than $1 million, and the firm said in December it has closed on a construction financing of $5.4 million to renovate the roughly 120-year-old brick building on the site into a three-story, 620-unit facility.
The three-acre Marlborough site was assessed by the city in 2019 for $372,300.
