Two new cannabis dispensaries are joining the growing crowd in Central Massachusetts. One new store opened in Grafton that opened on Saturday, and another in Southbridge will open its doors on March 30.
With the new openings, more than 70 dispensaries operate within a 25-mile radius of Worcester, according to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
Discern'd Cannabis Purveyors opened in Grafton on Saturday and will focus on educating adult consumers about cannabis. The dispensary is 2,383 square feet and a two-story building on Route 122.
In Southbridge, Green Path Cannabis is opening a dispensary at the corner of Main and Goddard Streets in downtown. There will be a public ribbon cutting ceremony on from 4 to 5 p.m. March 30. Green Path is a veteran- and minority-owned cannabis dispensary. The dispensary’s license is under Cannabro LLC and its CEO is Joseph Stephens, whose LinkedIn page says is also the president of Step Up Properties LLC, which Open Corporates says is located in Missouri.
According to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission’s latest numbers, sales in the state for adult-use marijuana have totaled $199 million this year through Feb, 19, with another $32.8 million in medical marijuana sales. Since the first adult-use dispensaries opened in 2018, total legal marijuana sales in Massachusetts have surpassed $5.1 billion.
