An applicant seeking approval for cultivation and manufacturing licenses in Franklin has bought an eight-acre site in town for $1.6 million.
The buyer is a limited liability corporation registered to Andre Koudijs of Boston, who has been connected to cannabis operations proposed in Springfield and Provincetown. Koudijs's firm, Hennep Cultivation, has submitted applications for approval for cultivation and manufacturing licenses from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
The seller, represented by Greater Boston Commercial Properties of Northborough, was Two Hundred Seventy-Nine Grove Street Nominee Trust and trustees Paul and Leo Bartolini. The sale closed Jan. 15.
The property at 160 Grove St. is an underutilized site amid an increasing number of warehouse and distribution buildings. On the site today is a house and, in the far rear of the property, a small corrugated steel warehouse.
It is zoned for commercial and residential use.
