• Frame Dimensions in West Hartford presented artwork done by Bobby, an Eastern box turtle, for a sale to support The Children’s Museum wildlife sanctuary.
• MidState Medical Center’s Cancer Center in Meriden received a three-year approval award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The center was recognized for offering three or more prevention or early detection programs per year and making two improvements that affect patient care.
• Rockville Bank in Vernon received a Community Reinvestment Act rating of outstanding from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The bank was assessed on its performance in helping to meet the credit needs of the community.
• Judy Young, owner of five McDonald’s locations in Connecticut, received a Shining Star Award from the McDonald’s Women’s Operator Network. Young was nominated by her peers for innovation, leadership and commitment to the network’s vision.
• Dr. Hank Schwartz, psychiatrist-in-chief at the Institute of Living and vice president of behavioral health at Hartford Hospital, received the Burlingame award for exceptional leadership from the Institute of Living’s board of directors. The award is presented annually to honor a leader in American psychiatry.
