Mammography Center Opens
Worcester's Family Health Center opened its new digital mammography service today.
The Lois B. Green Breast Health Center is open to all Worcester-area women who need mammography services.
Green, who died last year, was the founder and first president of Bet Shalom Housing for the Elderly in Worcester and served in many social service volunteer and fundraising capacities in Central Massachusetts. At the Family Health Center, she worked to improve radiology services for low-income women.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning was slated to include appearances by U.S. Rep. James McGovern, D-Worcester, and Green's son and daughter.
