Marlborough-based Main Street Bank has promoted Leominster resident Ruth Cavanagh to senior vice president, chief lending officer, the bank announced Monday.
Cavanagh assumed the position on the same day her promotion was announced. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of lending, both commercial and retail, at the bank.
“Ruth has spent her entire career in banking, and the past 20-plus years in roles of increasing responsibility,” said CEO Walter Dwyer in a statement. “Working with her over the past nine years, I respect and trust her judgement, professionalism, and ability to continue to build our lending capabilities.”
Cavanagh joined Main Street bank in 2012, but began her banking career in 1981. She attended University of Lowell, now known as UMass Lowell, and Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of work, Cavanagh is a member of the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Community Impact Leadership Committee of the Economic Club, as well as a member of the finance committee for the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Devens.
