A Leominster-based construction company purchased a 13,500-square-foot warehouse at 305 Leominster Shirley Road in Lunenburg for $1.1 million, according to the Worcester North District Registry of Deeds.
The property was previously owned by Juliano Fernandes, the former CEO of Turnkey Lumber Corp., which is headquartered in New Hampshire and had an office at the Lunenburg property.
Fernandes was arrested in January for failing to pay employment taxes for two companies he managed, Force Corp. and AB Construction, according to reports by the Massachusetts District of the U.S. Department of Justice. He also failed to fulfill a 2016 settlement to pay back more than $2.3 million in wages and damages to nearly 500 employees.
A receiver appointed by the U.S. Department of Labor became the owner of the property in May 2020 for $100, according to the registry of deeds.
In a deal closed Sept. 8, a company registered to the owner and two vice presidents of GVC Construction, Inc. purchased the property. GVC is owned by Geselle Valenti and services federal, state, and municipally funded infrastructure projects, according to its website.
The Lunenburg property includes more than 2.5 acres of land and is assessed by the Town of Lunenberg at $1.12 million.
