Littleton-based mobile content company Livewire Mobile Inc. swung to a $241,000 loss in the fourth quarter of 2010 after making a $1.5-million profit in the same quarter of 2009.
Its revenues fell 30 percent to $3.1 million for the quarter. The company said the decline in revenues was mainly due to a $1.4-million decrease in the capital-expenditure portion of its ringback tone business, which it says tends to vary from quarter to quarter depending on the timing of deployments.
For the full year, revenues fell to $12.1 million from $16.8 million in 2009, but total losses decreased 46 percent to $1.5 million.
Livewire acquired U.K. company Fonestarz Media Group Ltd. in December.
