A longtime Worcester auto repair business is set to expand its presence off of Shrewsbury Street, following the purchase of two adjacent parcels for a combined $ 1.8 million.
Entities managed by Franchi Brothers Auto Body purchased 14 Putnam Lane and 12 Albany St. in two separate deals finalized on Dec. 19, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records.
Franchi Brothers purchased the two parcels to construct a new auto body shop at the location, according to an email from Jimmy Kalogeropoulos, owner of RE/MAX Partners in Worcester. The auto body repair firm owns the adjacent property at 8 Nebraska Street and continues to operate from its location at 258 Shrewsbury St.
Both properties were owned by 14 Putnam LLC, a Boylston-based entity managed by the owners of Ricciardi Bros., the Worcester-based general contractor.
The 0.93-acre property at 14 Putnam Lane sold for just over $1 million, while the 0.57-acre property at 12 Albany St sold for $788,000. Combined, the two properties were given a tax assessment value of $1.23 million for 2025, according to City of Worcester property records.
Franchi Brothers first opened for business in 1936 and is in its third generation of family ownership, according to its website.
Steven Pizzarella of REMAX Partners represented Franchi Brothers in the transaction.
