The unemployment rates in North Central Massachusetts and in Worcester inched down between March and April along with each of the state’s labor markets, according to the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The unemployment rate data showing the decreases are not seasonally adjusted. The rate declines are typical for this time of year, the department said.
Worcester’s rate fell from 8.5 percent to 8.3 percent while the Leominster-Fitchburg-Gardner area’s rate came down from 10.5 percent to 10.1 percent. Framingham’s rate fell from 6.5 percent in March to 6.2 percent in April.
Statewide, the unemployment rate decreased from 8.2 percent in March to 7.8 percent in April, on an unadjusted basis.
Last week, the state released seasonally adjusted data that said the statewide unemployment rate increased from 7.7 percent in March to 8 percent in April.
