Local farm movement gathering in Worcester

The local farm movement will be gathering at the Hanover Theatre this week to discuss the future of farming in the region by the 1,500 farmers based in Central Massachusetts.

The Hanover Theatre, in partnership with Central Mass Grown, will present "Building a Sustainable Worcester: The Fresh Food Movement in Central Massachusetts" tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. as part of the theatre’s Access Hanover Lyceum Series. At the event, the agriculture economy’s viability in providing good jobs, business opportunities and making Worcester county a more desirable place to live and work will be discussed.

Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matthew Beaton will give the opening remarks with industry company owners speaking and filling out a panel discussion. The event is free to Hanover Theatre and partner members and their guests and costs $10 for the general public.
