Local developer Polar Views LLC added to its recent acquisitions of Worcester properties in the area near Chandler St. and Park Ave. with the $1.3 million purchase of the former Caola Equipment shop, a three-decker, and an abutting parking lot.

The properties at 391 Park Ave., 132 Dewey St. and 136 Dewey St. were sold by former Caola Equipment owners, twin brothers Paul and David Johnson. The brothers told the Telegram & Gazette in January that they planned to close their shop after 70 years in business.

Worcester-based RE/MAX Partners Advance Group Principal James Kalogeropoulos facilitated the sale. The transaction was recorded on Friday by the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.

Polar Views, which operates out of Northborough, is owned by Worcester-born entrepreneurs Rebecca and Daniel Yarnie. The company has purchased several properties along Chandler St. in the past year including a plaza at 221 Chandler St.; 127 Chandler St., the location of Beacon Auto Sales; and the former location of Suney’s Pub and an abuting apartment building with a convenience store,  which was demolished in July.

Daniel Yarnie, the son of Ghanaian immigrants, told WBJ in September that he grew up on Mason Court, near the recently acquired properties.

The couple has been quiet about what they have planned for many other properties they own including a former police station and later Worcester Electrical Associates building at 39 Lamartine St. which has been demolished. They are in the process of building and renovating residential properties on Austin St.

The Yarnies did not respond to a request for information about whether they have a tenant lined up for the Park Avenue shop, nor what they plan to do with the lot where Suney’s once stood.

In addition to their real estate business, the couple also owns a cannabis company,  Finest Trees in Shrewsbury.
