A Worcester business owner is a finalist for the U.S. Small Business Administration's National Minority Small Business Person of the Year.
Charran K. Fisher, president of the Fisher Contracting Corp., which is headquartered at 11 Webster Place in Worcester, is the local finalist for the award. She will vie for the national title against nine other minority-owned business owners in Puerto Rico, Virginia, Texas, Kansas, South Dakota, South Carolina, Indiana, California and Washington.
The winner will be announced during the Minority Enterprise Development Week conference, which will take place Sept. 27-30 in Washington, D.C.
Fisher Contracting was founded in 1988 and provides a variety of construction services, according to the company's website. It does business in New England as well as New York, Virginia and Florida.
