Eggrock Inc. of Littleton said 120 of its factory-built bathrooms will be part of a new warrior-in-transition barracks at Ft. Carson, Colo.
Eggrock was chosen by Mortenson Construction, which recently won the contract to construct the new barracks. The warrior-in-transition program was started by the U.S. Army to care for wounded soldiers and their families.
Housing constructed as part of the program is intended for soldiers who require long-term medical care.
Eggrock builds entire bathrooms at its factory in Littleton and then ships them to construction sites for installation, typically at dormitories, hotels and hospitals.
The warrior-in-transition project in Colorado is on a fast track, and Mortenson said using the pre-constructed bathrooms could eliminate 600 cubic yards of construction waste.
