Littleton Horse Retailer Gets Back On Expansion Trail

Littleton-based Dover Saddlery, which sells equestrian products, plans to re-launch its retail store expansion plan.
The plan includes opening two to four stores this year and an additional four to six in 2012. The company hopes to have 40 new stores over the next several years. Dover Saddlery currently has 12 retail stores.
The first new retail location of 2011 will be located southeast of Denver. That location is slated to open in mid-June.
Dover Saddlery said the re-ignited expansion campaign was fueled by improved fourth-quarter results. Same-store sales during the period increased 11 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.
