Littleton Firm Partners With Brown U

Littleton-based Audax Medical has licensed a nanotechnology called Arxis from Brown University in Providence that could regenerate bone, cartilage and other soft tissues.

Arxis was co-developed by Thomas Webster, an engineering professor at Brown. The company has acquired exclusive rights to Arxis and has also formed a research agreement with the school's engineering and orthopedics departments to further develop the technology.

Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Audax specializes in degenerative bone and musculoskeletal tissue treatments.
