After more than 20 years at Fitchburg-based Family Federal Savings, Linda Carmichael has moved to GFA Federal Credit Union in Gardner, where she takes on a newly created position focused on technology.

Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. Great - love the atmosphere and the "Safe - Sound - Service" philosophy.
Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
A. How overwhelmingly welcoming and accepting the staff and senior management were - and how everything is a "team" effort. Management truly cares about the employees.
Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. We have some great and challenging goals for 2009, and I look forward to working with the GFA team in bringing new, innovative banking products and technology to our members.
Q. How different is this job from your previous position?
A. There is just as much responsibility, but as part of the GFA Team I own a single slice of a project.
Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?
A. The Camelot in Templeton.
Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
A. Still working with GFA Team.
