Lightower: Va., DC fiber expansion done
Lightower Fiber Networks of Boxborough said it has completed an 1,100-mile expansion of its all-fiber network throughout Virginia and the Washington, D.C., metro area.
The work is part of the network services firm’s strategy of aggressive expansion throughout the region blanketing Virginia and into North Carolina that it announced in August 2013, it said in a statement. Separately, the company added more than 400 miles of networking in the Washington metro area, including parts of northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs.
The expansions also increase customer connectivity and routing options to Washington, Baltimore, points north of Baltimore, as well as Washington metro data centers including those in the Ashburn, Va., area.
