Lightower To Buy Veroxity, Nearly Double Its Network

Boxborough-based Lightower Fiber Networks said it is acquiring Veroxity Technology Partners of Westford.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds more than 2,000 network route miles of fiber optic cable to Lightower's current 4,500-mile network. It also increases Lightower's presence in data centers and commercial buildings in New England, New York and New Jersey.

The Veroxity buy will also give venture-backed Lightower access to "long-haul" services to markets including Chicago, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Denver and several other western cities.

The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.

Lightower is a fiber network and broadband service provider. Veroxity is a data and Internet connectivity firm and fiber network operator.
