Six Central Massachusetts firms will benefit from the latest round of tax incentives issued by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center.
The center awarded $23.9 million in tax incentives to 30 companies throughout the state. The incentive program is part of the state’s 10-year, $1 billion Life Sciences Initiative. This is the second year incentives have been provided.
As part of the incentive program, companies must pledge to create and maintain a certain number of jobs. The local beneficiaries are listed below, along with the amount of the incentive award as well as the job creation commitment:
• Boston Heart Lab Inc., Framingham, $440,000 tax incentive, 36 jobs
• Caliper Life Sciences Inc., Hopkinton, $270,000 tax incentive, 11 jobs
• Interlace Medical Inc., Framingham, $75,000 tax incentive, 10 jobs
• Still Rivers Systems Inc., Littleton, $296,288 tax incentive, 11 jobs
• Sunovion Inc., Marlborough, $942,734 tax incentive, 35 jobs
• Valeritas Inc., Shrewsbury, $480,000 tax incentive, 18 jobs
The incentive program is co-administered by the Life Sciences Center and the state Department of Revenue.
