Leominster medical marijuana location proposed
The city of Leominster will hold a public hearing to discuss a proposal to establish a medical marijuana dispensary at 57 Nashua St.
The hearing for March 28 was set by the city council as standard operating procedure during its meeting Monday night.
Alternative Therapies Group is seeking a special permit to locate and operate a marijuana dispensary to handle the retail sale or distribution of marijuana for medical use to qualifying patients. According to the company’s website, its Salem location was the first to begin serving medical patients in Massachusetts on June 24, 2015. The company offers marijuana, edible marijuana-based products, topical products and concentrates at its Salem store.
Following the public hearing, the issue would go back before the council for debate, according to city officials.
