A Vermont-based manufacturer of yogurt is relocating to Leominster and plans to add about 12 jobs over the next two years, according to MassDevelopment, the state’s finance and development agency.
DAHlicious LLC, which makes Lassi smoothies, a blend of Indian-style yogurt and real fruit, is receiving a $500,000 loan from MassDevelopment to help with the move to a 5,000-square-foot facility on Hamilton Street. The company has used the proceeds of that loan to acquire new equipment for the Leominster facility, MassDevelopment said.
DAHlicious Lassi is sold nationally through various retailers, MassDevelopment said. The company is based in Whiting, Vt., just east of the New York border and about 40 miles south of Burlington, Vt.
MassDevelopment President and CEO Marty Jones endorsed the company’s entry into the Bay State as part of the growth of the “local food movement.”
