Leominster Credit Union gives $600 stimulus checks to all employees

As Washington, D.C. tussles over yet another stimulus check proposal, Leominster Credit Union is taking matters into its own hands, announcing on Monday plans to provide all of its employees with what the company is calling $600 stimulus checks.

“We know that many individuals have faced struggles and challenges over the past year, in light of COVID-19, and we wanted to assist and support our employees as they continue to navigate through these unprecedented times,” said President and CEO Barbara Mahoney in a press release. 

LCU said it will encourage its employees to spend the extra funds locally, to support community businesses.

LCU boasts nearly 50,000 members and maintains locations in Leominster, Clinton, Holden, Sterling and Worcester.
