Leadership Worcester class of 2023 includes 28 local professionals

The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the 28 Central Massachusetts professionals who will make up the Leadership Worcester class of 2023.

The program selects professionals who are motivated to take a more active role in leading the Worcester community. Participants attend day-long monthly sessions, kicked off with an overnight retreat. Each session focuses on an important topic in the city.

The cost to participate in the program is $3,200, with assistance available from local foundations and employers.

“Now more than ever, we need leaders – those who understand the needs of our community and will step up to facilitate change and inclusivity,” Chamber President and CEO Tim Murray said in a Thursday press release.

The class of 2023 includes:

  • Katherine Acker - health equity program manager, Fallon Health in Worcester
  • Marwa Alnaal - director of government affairs, Ascentria Care Alliance in Worcester
  • Christina Bazelmans - associate principal, Lamoureaux Pagano Associates Architects in Worcester
  • Margie Breault - program manager, EforAll in Worcester
  • Staisha Chavis - operations manager, City of Worcester’s Executive Office of Economic Development
  • John Daniels - director of investments, The Menkiti Group in Worcester
  • Jennifer Delaney - community health manager, UMass Memorial Health in Worcester
  • Lora Dumas - director of strategy, UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester
  • Katie Ferreira - director of communications & development, Guild of St. Agnes of Worcester, Inc.
  • Stacey Forrest - COO, Thrive Support & Advocacy in Marlborough
  • Anastasia Garcia - commercial lines IT business analyst, Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester
  • Maricelis Gonzalez -executive director, El Buen Samaritano Food Program, Inc. in Worcester
  • Amaris Gonzalez - director of college placement and transition, Nativity School of Worcester
  • Kendra Hacker - lead admissions marketing specialist, UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester
  • Holly Hodgkins - district representative, Office of Congressman Jim McGovern (D-Worcester)
  • Kayanna James - workforce development specialist, U.S. Department of Labor
