LCU Gives $25K To Fitchburg State
Leominster Credit Union has donated $25,000 to Fitchburg State University and has established a $1,000 annual scholarship for Worcester County students.
Fitchburg State will name a conference room in the school's new Hammond Campus Center in recognition of Leominster Credit Union.
The credit union has 49,000 members and seven branch locations in Leominster, Worcester, Clinton, Holden and Sterling.
Fitchburg State also announced earlier this week it would be honor Frederick Healey, the former president and CEO of Workers Credit Union in Fitchburg, with the President's Medal at a winter commencement ceremony at the school on Jan. 21. Healey was suddenly replaced at Workers Credit Union in late December.
