Lawyers Should Learn Spanish, Chinese

Laid off lawyers looking for work should consider learning a second language in their spare time, according to the results of a recent Robert Half Legal survey.

According to the survey, lawyers who speak more than one language are at an advantage during their job search. More than one third of survey respondents said the need for multilingual attorneys is increasing at their firms.

About 36 percent of attorneys surveyed said they’ve seen either a significant increase or a slight increase in the need for multilingual attorneys.

The two languages most in demand are Spanish and Chinese.

Robert Half is an international employment agency.
