Worcester’s KJ Baaron’s Fine Wine & Spirits has been named the 2010 retailer of the year by Massachusetts Beverage Business magazine.
Owner Kathryn Krock opened the Summer Street location in 2007 after starting the business in 2004 on Main Street in Worcester.
The store now includes a smoke shop, beer, spirits, wine, cheese, gift baskets and a tasting room.
According to the magazine, the award, which it began giving out in 2009, is determined based on sales performance, retail innovation, store layout, staff training, customer loyalty programs and community involvement.
Other finalists included the Groton Market in Groton and Austin Liquors in Shrewsbury.
