Kennedy Community Health Center moves its headquarters

The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center announced on Thursday it has moved its administrative offices to be close to the Great Brook Valley public housing complex, where the center was founded.

The move to 115 NE Cutoff from 650 Lincoln St. in Worcester is part of the health center’s consolidation of its administrative offices and overall footprint, after that aspect of its business worked remotely during the coronavirus pandemic.

In announcing the move to the former Allegro building, the nonprofit said the consolidation had created a cost savings, although it didn’t give a specific number.

The Kennedy Community Health Center serves about 28,000 patients per year on $35 million in annual income. Kennedy’s patient population is 90% low-income, 71% person of color, and 30% without health insurance. A quarter of its patients are children.

The new administrative site includes finance and call center personnel. The center still has its clinical sites in Worcester at Tacoma and Lincoln streets, in Framingham on Waverly Street, and in Milford on Cape Road.
