A jury in Los Angeles Federal Court turned in a guilty verdict against Framingham-based Staples in a patent infringement suit brought by Pennsylvania company Accentra.
At issue in the case were three patents for an Accentra stapler. The jury found that Staples had infringed upon Accentra’s patents when making and selling its line of Staples One-Touch staplers.
Federal Judge Audrey Collins is expected to rule on damages in the case in the first quarter.
Accentra also has a patent suit against Acco Brands for its Swingline PowerEase line of staplers.
