JRC reports $148M Q4 net loss

The Journal Register Co., which owns the New Haven Register, reported a fourth quarter net loss of $148.4 million, compared to a net loss of $25.1 million in Q4 2006.

The company’s total revenues dipped 12.5 percent to $115.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2007 from $131.9 million during the same period in 2006. Advertising revenues also declined by 8.6 percent to $88.2 million in the fourth quarter.

Circulation revenues for the same time period were down 0.3 percent. Total operating expenses for Q4 2007 were essentially flat compared to the same quarter a year before.
