National sub sandwich chain Jimmy John’s opened its first location in MetroWest and second in Central Massachusetts on Tuesday, with a new spot in Northborough.
Although the chain has several locations in Greater Boston and Lowell, its only other location in Central Massachusetts is in the Mercantile Center in Worcester.
The owner of the Northborough location, Joey Sbordon, plans to hire about 20 employees for the restaurant. Sbordon will offer delivery to the surrounding area.
Jimmy John’s, based in Charleston, Ill., was founded in 1983 and has 2,600 locations in 43 states.
