Jan. good to U.S. wholesalers

American wholesalers sold at their fastest pace since March 2004 in January, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Sales rose 2.7 percent in January and inventories grew by 0.8 percent. The department’s inventory-to-sales ratio fell to 1.07, a record low that indicates the increased sales allowed wholesalers to trim inventories.
