A Boston developer submitted plans to the Worcester Planning Board to remodel 111,000 square feet of former industrial buildings on Lagrange Street into 63 apartment units.
The proposal includes seven parcels on Lagrange Street and Oread Street in Main South, and will be considered at the Planning Board’s Sept. 8 meeting.
All 63 units will be affordable, according to the July 30 application submitted by Jon Rudzinski, the president of Rees-Larkin Development, LLC.
The story was first reported by the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
Rees-Larkin, based in Jamaica Plain, specializes in affordable and mixed-income housing, and was granted $14 million in June for an adaptive re-use housing project in Fitchburg, according to the New England Real Estate Journal.
The 3.9 acres are owned by Krosoczka Properties Trust, which is registered to Sem-Tech, Inc. President Stephen Krosoczka, according to the site plan application.
The property at 47 Lagrange St. is still listed as the headquarters for Sem-Tech, a ball valve manufacturing company, on its website.
Krosoczka has owned the seven parcels since at least 2002, when he transferred them from another LLC registered in his name for $100, according to the Worcester County Registry of Deeds. It is valued at roughly $490,000 by the City of Worcester.
Sem-Tech was not available for immediate comment on the future of the company.
The Lagrange Street properties are located adjacent to the property at 300 Southbridge St. formerly The Bridge community center, which is set to be redeveloped into apartments by Boston-based Dalfior Developers Inc.
