EarlySense, an Israel-based manufacturer of contact-free patient monitoring systems, announced today that it will locate its U.S. headquarters in Massachusetts and that it will partner with MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham to implement its system called EverOn.
The announcement follows Gov. Deval Patrick's trip to Israel in March to foster business connections.
EarlySense will hire 10 employees in the Bay State by the end of the year and plans to hire 10 to 20 employees each year after.
The company has not yet announced where the headquarters will be in Massachusetts. A spokesman said the company is searching for a site.
EarlySense CEO Avner Halperin said in a statement that the company chose Massachusetts in part because it has research connections to several research institutions here, including Partners Healthcare. He said the final decision was made after spending time with Patrick in Israel.
EarlyOn activates the moment a patient enters a bed by using a sensor that is located under the mattress. Once activated, it records vital signs and other data.
