IPG Photonics Develops New Lasers
IPG Photonics of Oxford says it has developed two new types of fiber lasers that will allow it to enter new markets.
The new lasers operate in the green spectrum range. A new "pulsed 10-watt" laser is more efficient and compact than conventional lasers and is appropriate for solar/photovoltaic applications, resistor trimming and marketing of transparent materials. A second "continuous wave 15 watt" laser can be used in entertainment and other applications.
