Oxford-based IPG Photonics Corp. has announced the acquisition of a New Hampshire laser micromachining supplier.
IPG said it expects the deal with J.P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA) to add about $4 million to its revenue for the rest of 2012. At current revenue levels, the acquisition is expected to dilute shares by 1 to 2 cents per share in 2012 and to see growth in 2013. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to IPG, the acquisition allows the company to expand its integrated laser systems product offerings for fine-process, precision cutting, drilling and micromachining of non-metals, including glass, semiconductors and ceramics. It also plans to expand the reach of JPSA products through IPG's global sales and service network.
JPSA will operate as IPG Microsystems LLC.
