Marlborough-based IPG Photonics named former Varian Medical Systems executive Kolleen Kennedy to its board of directors, expanding the board to 11 members.
Kennedy worked with California-based Varian Medical Systems for more than two decades, most recently as president, proton solutions and chief growth officer, according to a Tuesday press release from IPG.
The move comes as IPG announced it experienced lower revenue from medical applications in the second quarter compared with 2022.
“Ms. Kennedy brings more than 25 years of medical device industry experience that will be valuable to IPG as our medical sales continue to be a growth driver for the company," IPG CEO and Director Eugene Scherbakov said in the press release. "I am looking forward to working with Kolleen and believe she will be a great contributor to IPG’s strategy, particularly in the medical field, given her track record of delivering consistent value creation through top-line growth.”
